Valentine's Day Gift Guide - Shopping/Experiences

This Valentine's Day I am partnering with local businesses in Shreveport to bring you some of the best gifts for your loved ones!

The Agora Borealis

I like to think outside the box and this gift guide is no different. There are some classics, like jewelry. But I also wanted to include some things people might not think of!
The first installment of the gift guide is the Agora Borealis on Lake Street!

I can't express my love for this slice of heaven enough. Katy has created such a warm environment full of joyous treasures at every turn. I could live at this shop, truly. the cutest thing d love in this shop. The kinds of things you can find here are endless art, clothes, bath, self care, jewelry, wind chimes, leather paperweight, snacks, kitchen wares. Everything is handcrafted. That's the key. After all, The Agora is an art shop. They exist to be art and be art that functions!
There are things for men and women here!

So stop by and find the gem your lover will cherish or use with joy!

The Agora Borealis is located downtown at 421 Lake St, Shreveport, La 71101

Sanctuary Glass Studio

Have you ever tried glass blowing? What about a date where you make glass art? Or a girls night party?!
Sanctuary Glass Studio is a lovely and cozy (there's literally about a 2000° fire going, hello WARM for winter) experience to do alone or with a group!

There is a beautiful selection of items you can make: a flower, bowl, vase, etc. I'm partial to the flower or decorative bowl.
But the experience alone is so cool, empowering, and FUN!!

The giant bonus is that at Sanctuary, they care about improving the community around them. They have numerous outreaches that are improving the SBC and I couldn't love it more!!

They are on Lake Street right next to The Agora Borealis

John Pickens

John Pickens has you covered for Valentine's Day for the man in your life.
Talking with John was a delight! He is so kind, attentive, and calming. I can see what makes him great at caring for his clients needs and getting them the right fit for their custom clothing!
First up, I want to talk about the dirty Valentine's cards. That was a delightful surprise and they were so fun! Highly recommend!

Next up, their spring shirts! Oh.my.goodness. I love nothing more than the quirky details on men's clothing. They had a shirt with tiny sunbathers, a lovely spring shirt (a specialty with limited stock from Europe) with tiny umbrellas all over, and a shirt with small 80s disco line drawings. I think one of my favorite things about men's clothes is that it can be fun and playful in subtle and unexpected ways.
Women's clothing are louder and more blunt with their fun and playfulness. Which I love as well. But I also love the subtle details in men's clothes that are little joyful surprises!
They also carry the accessories. Wallets, hankies, belts, socks.
They have you covered, top to bottom!

*Just noticed my typo 🙃😩 I've been caring for sick people, got sick myself now, and did this while I had some time tonight before bed, while holding a sleeping Harlan and I was dog tired. Grace please!*
