SELF-LOVE: 1920s THEME

Dani emailed me one day asking if we could do a conceptual photoshoot. She said she was totally up for whatever my brain came up with. She was scheduled for a Beauty session and now I was going to be able to tell a story through her session! I have so many different concepts written down and planned out in my head and on private boards on Pinterest. I was just giddy!

Those freckles though! And the makeup, which is perfect in all the ways, is by the absolutely fabulous Hannah Kuhary!!

I chose to go with a 20’s theme because that is the one I have been DYING to do for a very long time. And she validated that decision with a legit mink fur shawl she had loaned from her Aunt. It.was.fabulous!!! I was obsessed to say the least.

Just look at the gorgeous freckles! I am a red head that barely has freckles. Envy...

Dani was inspired to do a beauty session because she has a young daughter. She has been inspired by her daughter to see the beauty in her own body and that loving herself is very important. She can pass this truth on to her daughter to love herself as she grows older!

One day she wants to be able to show her daughter this artwork and have her be so proud of her beautiful Momma and for the milestones she reached in her education, as a Mom, and as a woman learning to love herself!

So much has happened and I would love to remember this time in my life with pictures. Especially some that I might be able to show my daughter one day. I just want her to be proud of her mom and to think she was beautiful.

She is also a tomboy (holla to the tomboys!) who wanted to drop the tomboy persona a bit. Because, sometimes no matter how un-girly (I totally made that fab word up!) you are, it is nice to look and feel glamorous! And she wanted to celebrate this moment in her life! She had her daughter about a year ago and has finished her master’s. I am so excited for her! And I think this session was just an excellent celebration of herself and her accomplishments! And we definitely had SO much fun during this session! Like, SO much fun!!!
